Now that spring practices are in the books, all attention for the Oregon Ducks turns to the recruiting trail. As things currently stand, Dan Lanning and Co. hold the Nation's 6th ranked recruiting class with 11 players committed. While finishing 6th in the rankings would suffice, Oregon hasn't gone on their traditional summer recruiting tear yet.
Dan Lanning and his staff have made a tradition out of racking up 5-star commitments throughout the summer helping the Ducks sign elite recruiting classes. This Summer, among the 5-stars Oregon will be looking to reel in is elite 5-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou.

On Monday, elite 5-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou released his final 5 schools including the Oregon Ducks alongside Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame, and Georgia.

The recruitment for Fakatou has been wild as it's seemed like several schools were the frontrunners at different points. The USC Trojans missing the cut is the biggest surprise as Fakatou took a ton of visits to Southern Cal.
This Spring, Marcus Fakatou took a visit to Eugene, posting a video to YouTube of his experience on campus.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Marcus Fakatou is the 27th-ranked player in the country, the 2nd-ranked defensive lineman in the class, and the 3rd-ranked player out of California. Fakatou has a chance to be a really versatile piece at the next level as he can play a mix of edge rusher and interior defensive line which would make him a dream for defensive coordinators.
