Oregon QB Dante Moore exits game vs. USC on disgusting hit the Trojans' celebrated

The Oregon Ducks are currently in a battle with the USC Trojans, which carries major College Football Playoff and Big Ten implications. If the Ducks were going to win this game, it was going to take a massive showing from Oregon's superstar quarterback Dante Moore. Early in the second quarter, Oregon may be without their leader for a long time.

Dante Moore escaped the rush early in the second quarter to pick up a first down, and while he was clearly sliding, Desman Stephens II did not care, and unloaded with one of the dirtiest hits you will ever see.

While Dante Moore looked severely injured, the USC defenders did not care as Stephens II and two of his teammates celebrated after the hit.

Even as Dante Moore remained on the ground, and the medical staff was attending to Moore, Stephens was smiling and high fiving his teammates, celebrating the hit.

Dante Moore remained down for a while after the hit, and was carted off the field into the ambulance on the field. Moore exited the game 8-10 for 77 yards, picking up an additional 10 yards with his legs.

Given how much is on the line for Dante Moore this season, seeing him loaded into an ambulance is horrifying and heartbreaking, and the game almost takes a back seat. Dante Moore passed up being the potential No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to return to school, and try to lead the Ducks to a National Championship.

Dante Moore was taken to LA General Hospital for further evaluation according to the NBC broadcast.

Oregon's bet on Dylan Raiola feels incredibly important at this moment

This offseason, Oregon didn't need to go out and add a quarterback via the Transfer Portal, but the Ducks did anyway, picking up former Nebraska starter Dylan Raiola. Given how high-profile Raiola was, the move came with a ton of jokes and negativity towards him, but now the decision is incredibly important.

After losing to Oklahoma State, every game feels like it's do-or-die, and the Oregon Ducks may be without Dante Moore for some time. Dylan Raiola isn't an inexperienced quarterback stepping into a role, but one who's played in these big games, and shouldn't be overwhelmed by the moment.

If Oregon is going to keep the hopes of winning a National Championship alive, the team is going to have to weather the storm. Everyone needs to step up, with the leader of the offense and the team out of the lineup with Big Ten play kicking off, and it all starts with Moore's replacement Dylan Raiola.
