After an action packed Summer on the recruiting trail, the buzz has died down recently for the Oregon Ducks. The Summer was filled with elite recruits taking visits to Eugene, and in most cases committing to Dan Lanning and his staff shortly. Given the fact that the vast majority of the recruits in the 2027 cycle are already committed, attention has started to shift towards the 2028 cycle.
While the shift in attention is fair, the Ducks loaded recruiting class could still add pieces into the Winter. The Ducks have a chance to flip several prospects throughout the Fall, but there are still a few uncommitted recruits the staff could pursue, including one that Oregon has seemingly led for the entire offseason.
Elite Oregon LB target Brayton Feister sets commitment date
Earlier in the Summer after Oregon landed elite linebacker Toa Satele, it looked like Brayton Feister would be joining the class shortly after. Instead, Feister postponed his commitment date which left many wondering if he’d continue his process into the Fall.
Instead, Brayton Feister appears to have arrived at a decision as he’ll announce his commitment on Friday live on The Pat McAfee Show.

The Ducks have had a tough battle in the recruitment of Brayton Feister as hometown Ohio State, former Oregon DC Tosh Lupoi, and Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs will all have a hat on the table when the decision is made. Smart and Georgia emerged as a major thorn in the Ducks’ side down the stretch in this recruitment, and the hope will be that the Ducks are still in pole position.
According to Rivals’ Industry Recruiting Rankings, Brayton Feister is the 130th ranked player in the Country, the 10th ranked linebacker in the class, and the 7th ranked player out of Ohio. Oregon has been the front runner for the vast majority of this recruitment, holding long standing predictions from Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, Max Torres, and Greg Smith to land the commitment.
If the Ducks can secure Brayton Feister, it would mark the perfect finishing touch on a loaded recruiting class. Oregon currently holds the Nation’s 4th ranked recruiting class and the top class in the Big Ten, and adding another blue-chip recruit will only help the group. Brayton Feister is the lone uncommitted target that the staff is strongly pursuing, and it would allow the group to focus on starting a 2028 class or even flipping other 2027 recruits.
