Recruiting is the name of the game in college football, and before the games are won on the field, the teams are built on the recruiting trail. When you watched Saturday Night's game between Ohio State and Oregon, the field was filled with players landed in battles between Dan Lanning and Ryan Day. Na'eem Offord, Dakorien Moore, Chris Henry Jr., Jaylen McClain, Ify Obidegwu, Dierre Hill Jr, and countless others were products of the Big Ten's biggest recruiting rivalry.
Given the way that this season has unfolded, Oregon hasn't had the biggest recruiting weekend's on campus, which has left the Ducks without a commitment in the 2028 recruiting cycle. While the Ducks spent this weekend on the road, Ohio State did the Ducks a massive favor by hosting a loaded group of recruits for Oregon's statement win.
Oregon demolished Ohio State in front of a loaded group of recruiting targets
Ohio State had a who's who of top recruits regardless of class in The Shoe on Saturday Afternoon, and while they were there to see the Buckeyes, it'll be hard not to leave the weekend thinking about the Ducks and the way they dominated. The two headline recruits on campus were elite 2028 recruits Braylon Clark (WR) and Casey Barner (S). The Ducks have been in the mix for Casey Barner, but the far more interesting name to watch for Oregon is Braylon Clark.
Clark is the Nation's 12th ranked recruit and the 3rd ranked wide receiver in the class, according to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings. Having Braylon Clark in attendance to watch the Ducks dismantle the Buckeyes should only help Oregon as they look to close the gap on Ohio State in this recruitment, and the timing couldn't have been better as he's set to visit Eugene next week for the Michigan game.
When you're trying to make an impression on elite recruits, it's also important to have the elite playmakers that you can point to as recruiting and development success stories. After Dakorien Moore left everyone impressed with his one-handed touchdown catch, recruits couldn't help but to ask for pictures with him, even though they were there to watch the Buckeyes.

This weekend, Ohio State was likely selling that they have one of the best game environments in the country, and hoping it would leave a strong impression on the players in attendance. The recruits in attendance instead got to watch The Shoe empty out early in the 4th quarter as the fans had seen enough of the Ducks' dominance.
It'll be interesting to see if, after leaving this weekend, recruits start to schedule visits to Eugene for these final few games, or if it creates any movement with players who have visited Oregon. This is the type of win that can spark a fire on the recruiting trail, and as Oregon tries to close out the 2027 cycle, and start building the 2028 recruiting class, it was a great weekend for Dan Lanning and the staff.
