The Big Ten Softball Tournament kicked off on Wednesday as teams seeded 5th through 12th played in the opening round. The Oregon Softball team had the day off as the stellar regular season allowed the team to earn the 2nd overall seed in the Big Ten Tournament. As the action kicked off in Maryland, Oregon was watching Wisconsin and Purdue to learn who they'd face on Thursday.
It looked like the 10th seeded Boilermakers were going to pull off the upset as they took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning. The 6th inning saw Wisconsin rally to tie the score, setting the game up for a wild finish. The Badgers put two runners on to start the inning before deploying a double steal to put both runners in scoring position.
Sophomore Hannah Conger delivered for the Badgers, walking the game off with a single to hold off elimination.
THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE!!
