Designated Player Stefini Ma'ake rapped four hits for six RBIs as the Ducks drubbed Rutgers 20-1 at Frederick Douglass Field in Piscataway, New Jersey Friday afternoon.
The 30-3 Ducks erupted for four runs in the first, eight in the second. A three-run homer by Ma'ake made it 15-0 in the third.
Sophomore catcher Braiesey Rosa blasted her first career grand slam and went 1-for-2 before giving way to Trinity Holden. In the pitching circle, Oregon ace Lyndsey Grein pitched another three innings of scoreless softball to earn the win, allowing no hits and striking out seven.

Grein's now 17-1 on the season with a league-leading ERA of 1.00, 123 strikeouts in 91.1 innings. The Big Ten's most dominant pitcher has limited opponents to a batting average of .137. Friday she allowed just one batter to reach base for the Scarlet Knights, a leadoff walk by centerfielder Jillian Anderson in the first.
With a big lead Staci Chambers came on to close out the game, allowing one run as she pitched the fourth and fifth innings. The game was called after that on the run rule.
Sisters Kai and Kedre Luschar continue to get it done at the plate for the Ducks. Leadoff hitter Kai laced three hits in four at bats and scored twice, while centerfielder Kedre contributed two singles and a walk, scoring three runs. Though not twins they are twin terrors on the basepaths: Kai swiped two stolen bases, Kedre one.
Rosa drilled her grand slam to straightaway center field on a 1-2 count in the second inning, breaking the game open at 12-0. It's a testament to how much pride this team has, pressing for more runs even with a big lead.

Senior Abby Mulvey had her first hit as a Duck, an RBI single in the top of the fifth. She's a catcher from La Quinta High School in La Quinta, California. It's her fourth year on the team as the Ducks' bullpen catcher.
The two-game series resumes Saturday at noon PDT with a game on Big Ten+ and KWVA radio. At 5-1 in league play, the Ducks are a half game behind Northwestern in the conference standings, ranked No. 6 in the country by ESPN.com.
