Jamari Johnson's injury certainly hurt the offense, and the defense may now suffer a similar fate, After the touchdown that gave Oklahoma State their 24-14 lead, star defensive tackle A'Mauri Washington limped his way back into the locker room.
Losing one of the nation's best defensive tackles isn't going to help a unit that's getting gashed by Oklahoma State on the ground. At the time of Washington's injury, Oklahoma State is averaging 10.7 yards per carry for 171 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
A'Mauri Washington has totaled 3 tackles, including a solo tackle for the Ducks' defense thus far. Last season, Washington was a monster in the middle, with 33 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 7 pass deflections pairing with Bear Alexander to make one of the best defensive tackle duos in the country.
