The Oregon women began their 2025-26 basketball season with a 113-36 win over Western Oregon Thursday night in Matthew Knight Arena.
Kelly Graves' team begins counting games on Monday November 4 with a home tilt against West Georgia, but they displayed their depth, open-court style and potential in the lopsided win. UCLA transfer guard Avary Cain hit 5-7 three-pointers with five assists. Junior forward Sarah Rambus led all scorers with 28 points and added eight rebounds.
The Ducks shot 40-78 from the floor (51 percent) and 14-31 (45 percent) from three, 19-24 from the free throw line, 79 percent. Against the NCAA Division II school they led 54-18 at the half.
All of Oregon's transfer weapons were on display in the tuneup game. Fresno State transfer forward Mia Jacobs put up nine points and six rebounds in 17 minutes. Guard Astera Tuhina ran the floor and sparked the defense with 9 points and 5 assists.
Among the holdovers, the Ducks got 9 assists and 12 points from guard Katie Fiso while 6-4 forward Amina Muhammad crashed the boards for 7 rebounds and 5 points.

Head coach Kelly Graves said, "We just have mobile posts so we can just run a little bit more, we decided this is the way we are going to attack this year.”
The season gets more serious at the end of November with a road game at Auburn, then a Civil War matchup versus the Beavers on December 3rd, followed by a road trip to UCLA. The Ducks play their first counting game on Big Ten+ on Monday, 6 p.m. PT in Matthew Knight.
