Katie Fiso is an igniter. The 5-11 guard from Seattle, Washington started a rally with a driving layup and two jumpers to get the Ducks a lead at 12-11 with three minutes to play in the first quarter and they never trailed again, winning 86-59 at Washington State.

For the game the Ducks' new point guard poured in 10-14 shots on her way to a career-high 22 points and 8 assists.

The game was sloppy at first with ball knocked around a bit, but Kelly Graves' new squad settled down to hit 11-24 3-pointers, 5-8 from transfer forward Mia Jacobs, 2-4 by Sofia Bell. Off the bench, guard Avary Cain, the transfer from UCLA, drained 2-3 on her way to 10 points.

Etute shines off the bench

Also intriguing was the play of Ehis Etute, the sophomore forward from Dudelange, Luxembourg. In just 17 minutes she cleaned the glass for 13 rebounds with 9 points and four assists, about as active as a player can be in a short stint.

In spite of the 27-point win Kelly Graves wasn't particularly happy, pushing his 5-0 squad for more.

"I just thought we kind of went through the motions at both ends," Graves said. "It looked like at times we were playing in quicksand. I didn't love our defensive intensity, consistently."
