Another week of the 2024 college football season is in the books and it looks like the playoff race is going to be more interesting than ever, especially with the expanded 12-team field.

Some regular contenders are showing out, but there is some concern with some other teams who were expected to push for a spot. Teams like Oregon, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Florida State have all had underwhelming starts to the season and playoff hopes are hinging on extreme turnarounds.

Fortunately for Oregon, it's 2-0 and it has a win over a solid Boise State team under its belt. Duck fans are frustrated that both wins were tighter than expected, but there's really nowhere to go but up.

While Oregon may be flirting with danger every week, Notre Dame was bitten by it in Week 2 with a home upset loss to Northern Illinois just a week after winning at Texas A&M. Wild. And Michigan was demolished at home by Texas, 31-12, and Florida State is 0-2 with losses to Georgia Tech and Boston College.

The playoff field is looking interesting, projections-wise, and here's what the 12-team CFP might look following the second week of action.

It was an interested week that yielded plenty of movement in the playoff projections and you can bet the Week 3 version is going to be even more interesting.

Oregon needs a convincing win over Oregon State to probably move up a spot or two in the rankings and as you can see, I dropped Penn State out completely after almost losing to Bowling Green at home. Oregon needs to be careful or it'll suffer that same fate.
