2024 summer opponent preview: Everything to know about Oregon football vs. Boise State Broncos

As Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks football team get set to start the 2024 Oregon football season, the Ducks will be preparing for an interesting early season challenge from the Boise State Broncos. 

The second of two teams from Idaho that Oregon gets the distinct pleasure of meeting up with in a non-conference matchup, the Ducks get to take on a team that they’ve actually never managed to beat. 

Here’s to hoping that that changes this season as the Ducks bring the Broncos to Eugene for that early season test.

• This will be just the fourth time that the Oregon Ducks and the Boise State Broncos have met
• Get set to stay up a little bit if you’re living anywhere other than the West Coast of Pacific Northwest, this game features a 7 p.m. kickoff in Eugene. 
• Oregon has never managed to beat Boise State in any of the three previous encounters

Meet Oregon football 2024 opponent: Boise State Broncos

Led by Spencer Danielson who is heading into his first full season as the head coach of the Boise State football team, the Broncos are looking to build upon the success they found during last year’s 8-6 season. Throughout its history, Boise State is the perfect sort of underdog program that achieves more than you’d expect.

Three Boise State Broncos that Oregon football fans should know

• Ashton Jeanty is a dangerous running back who was super productive for the Broncos in 2023
• Maddux Madsen, assuming he wins the quarterback battle and is fully healthy, is a talented and dangerous young QB who could cause some problems
• A'Marion McCoy is a seasoned defensive back who causes problems for opposing passing attacks

Oregon Ducks vs. Boise State Broncos: 2024 summer preview, prediction 

This will be the second game of the 2024 Oregon football season and it could conceivably be an interesting matchup for the Ducks through the first half or so. But, well, Oregon has a ton of talent and this is a game they should be able to win with ease. 

Which would mean, for the first ever, that the Ducks would find a way to beat the Boise State Broncos.
