3 freshmen who need to be elite for Oregon Ducks football in 2024
By Sam Fariss
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Brayden Platt chose the Ducks over their rival Washington Huskies and fellow home-state Washington State Cougars.
Platt has a massive build for an incoming freshman at 6-foot-1 and an astonishing 222 pounds but his size and strength are just the beginning of his profile highlights.
The freshman Duck was a two-way player in high school, also earning snaps as a running back, and is graded as the No. 1 player out of Washington in the 2024 class.
Fans can clearly see that Platt knows football better than the back of his own hand while he is on the field. He is quick to diagnose plays and run-routes, due in large part to his additional experience on the offensive end of the ball.
Beyond his natural athleticism and knowledge of the game, Platt ran track in high school and has an incredible closing speed once he goes in for the hit.
Due to his speed on the field, Platt’s tackles are booming hits that can be heard around the stadium yet his agility leads to consistently clean plays.
