3 freshmen who need to be elite for Oregon Ducks football in 2024
By Sam Fariss
One of the top players in the nation coming out of high school, much less one of the best edge rushers, Elijah Rushing (who is perfectly named) is set to become a star for the Ducks.
Rushing originally committed to the Arizona Wildcats but after the full treatment of Lanning and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi’s recruitment, he flipped his commitment to the one and only Ducks.
He ranked the No. 3 edge rusher in the 2024 class and the No. 26 player in the nation. At 6-foot-6 and 251 pounds, Rushing brings size and strength to the Oregon defensive line.
Rushing’s speed of the snap is astounding and should make for an indomitable force within the Ducks’ defensive unit.
His mother, lovingly known as Momma Rush, has even bought into the culture, attending Oregon’s spring game to support her son.
Rushing’s brother, Cruz Rushing, transferred to Oregon after starting his collegiate career with a year at Florida and a year at Arizona.
