After being a first-team All-Pac-10 selection for the Oregon Ducks, Keith Lewis had to wait until the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft to hear his name called by the San Francisco 49ers.

Lewis played five seasons with the 49ers where he amassed 158 tackles and 5 forced fumbles. He went on to be on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad before playing a season for the Carolina Panthers.
