Analyzing Oregon softball’s opening weekend
By Sam Fariss
Starting hot, the Ducks run-ruled the Lady Flame after five innings. Ariel Carlson hit two homers for three RBIs but the real highlight was Oregon’s dominance on the mound.
Throughout the 15 at-bats, the Ducks’ bullpen allowed only 2 hits. Morgan Scott pitched the entire game and had 2 strikeouts and 0 errors.
Pitching prowess can carry teams to victory after victory given the right supporting characters around it. Combined with Oregon’s hitting success over the weekend, the Ducks are set to do well throughout the rest of the season.
