Analyzing Oregon softball’s opening weekend
By Sam Fariss
Oregon’s mound was at work once again as they took on the Missouri State Bears. Elise Sokolsky earned the win after pitching five innings and allowing only 3 hits while getting 3 strikeouts.
Stevie Hansen closed out the final two innings for the Ducks and earned 4 strikeouts, letting the Bears get just 1 hit off of her.
Without any big homers, the Ducks pieced together their 9 runs throughout the game, four of which came in the final inning.
The continuation of Oregon’s hot bats is hopefully a preview of a high-scoring and successful season.
