Shockingly, the Fighting Illini lost a dozen players to the transfer portal in the month of April alone. During the spring window, Illinois lost nine transfers while bringing in zero new players.

The Fighting Illini had a relatively good season in 2023 but struggled to produce the points necessary to consistently win against conference opponents.

After adding some talent to its offensive and defensive lines earlier this offseason, Illinois should continue to improve its conference standings in 2024.
