It’s official, yet another one of quarterback Bo Nix’s childhood dreams has come true. As the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected the Oregon Duck legend.

Nix heads to the Mile High City to join former New York Jet Zach Wilson in the quarterback room.

Broncos’ head coach Sean Peyton has led some of the greatest NFL quarterbacks ever, including Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.

In his final season of college football, Nix led the Ducks to a 12-2 overall record with a bowl win over Liberty. He also broke the single-season completion percentage record by an NCAA quarterback.

After setting the standard in Eugene and breaking records week after week, Nix is packing his bags for the big league, and fans (of both the Broncos and the Ducks) couldn’t be more excited:

The Broncos have recently struggled with consistency at the quarterback position after Russell Wilson struggled to lead the Broncos to wins and most recently signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Nix was the sixth quarterback drafted in the first round, the most ever in the common draft era. Ahead of the former Duck quarterback was his Washington rival Michael Penix Jr. at the eighth overall pick.

USC’s Caleb Williams, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, and UNC’s Drake Maye went 1, 2, and 3 to kick off the draft. Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy was taken as the 10th overall pick.

Nix was the first Oregon player drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and is the 237th Duck to ever be drafted into the league.
