Dan Lanning lands 4-star transfer Jabbar Muhammad
By Sam Fariss
Dan Lanning has brought home the cherry-on-top recruit of an already phenomenal 2024 transfer portal class.
Highly sought-after cornerback Jabbar Muhammad has finally announced his commitment to… the Oregon Ducks.
Muhammad will step into an already stacked defensive unit for the Ducks and will have a chance to play against his former team, the Washington Huskies.
Lanning and Tosh Lupoi, Oregon’s defensive coordinator, will most certainly make the most of having Muhammad on their roster as the Ducks enter the highly competitive Big Ten conference.
The former Husky was an All-Pac-12 selection. In 2023, he had 46 tackles (5 TFL including 2 sacks) and 3 interceptions. Muhammad was also credited with 16 pass breakups and earned a coverage grade of 77.7 – 5th in the Pac-12 last year.
Muhammad chose the Ducks over two other star-studded programs, the Texas Longhorns and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Muhammad announced he was entering the transfer portal after the news of head coach Kalen DeBoer leaving for Alabama broke. His brother Malik Muhammad plays for the Longhorns, who will be joining the SEC at the start of the 2024 season.
