One of the best recruits in the country is apparently set to leave the Lone Star State and move to Oregon to play for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Dakorien Moore, the best wide receiver recruit in Texas (and also the country) in the 2024 recruiting class has made his commitment to join the Oregon football program.

This is one of the biggest wins in Oregon football recruiting history. Dan Lanning has just picked up one of the most talented recruits the Oregon Ducks have ever gotten to commit to play in Eugene.

Moore, a five-star wide receiver from Duncanville, Texas, ended up picking the Oregon Ducks over the Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and so many more. It shouldn’t surprise anyone to learn that Moore held offers from just about everyone. The Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners, Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and so on and so forth.

But as of right now, Moore is set to play in Autzen Stadium in Eugene for the Oregon Ducks. That’s a pretty big deal.

Oregon football recruiting: Dan Lanning picks up commitment from stellar 5-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore

According to the 247 Sports timeline of Moore’s recruiting, Lanning was able to get the talented receiver to commit to the Ducks just a couple weeks after his official visit to Eugene on June 21.

This comes after Moore decommitted from the LSU Tigers back on May 16. In between that decision to ditch LSU and the commitment to Oregon included official visits to Ohio State, the Tigers, Texas, and then the Ducks.

And it is to Oregon that he committed.

Now, with Moore on board, Lanning has assembled an incredibly impressive amount of talent for the 2025 Oregon football recruiting class. The Ducks have 15 commitments at the moment (five of which are from wide receivers). Moore is the second Texan to commit to the Ducks.

Lanning is thriving on the recruiting trail and has this recruiting class sitting at No. 5 in the nation, according to 247 Sports’ recruiting class rankings. Oregon is currently behind Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, and Notre Dame. Oregon is currently tied with Ohio State for leading the country with 5-star recruits at three apiece.
