When Dillon Gabriel transferred to Oregon football, he wasn't even considered the best quarterback in the portal by 247Sports. In fact, he was only rated a 91 by 247Sports and didn't even make the top 10 for transfer quarterbacks -- just wild.

But Vegas has always been high on Gabriel.

I mean, the former UCF and Oklahoma quarterback does have nearly 15,000 career yards and 125 touchdowns with a completion rate of 63. What's not to love?

And now Gabriel is joining the best roster he's ever had surrounding him in his career. Thee excitement for the quick Gabriel era in Eugene is palpable and it's why fans aren't devastated that Bo Nix moved on to the Denver Broncos.

Gabriel feels like the perfect replacement at quarterback.

Not only is he a great leader, but he can run with the ball as well as pass as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the country. I mean, you don't throw 125 touchdowns over the course of five years by mistake. And if all goes as planned, he could be flirting with 20,000 career passing yards by the end of the 2024 season.

As I mentioned before, Vegas has always loved Gabriel even when the transfer rankings didn't (still don't know why he was ranked so low) and as the preseason Heisman odds finalized on Saturday, he finished as the odds-on favorite to win the coveted award.

In fact, according to DraftKings, Gabriel's final odds to win the Heisman are at +600 and he's just ahead of Carson Beck (+800), Quinn Ewers (+1200), Jalen Milroe (+1400), and Jaxson Dart (+1400).

If you're a bettor, you could make a decent chunk of change on Gabriel winning the Heisman even though his odds are the best out of all the contenders. This is a surprising development.
