On Friday morning, ESPN BET that a new frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy had emerged.

Oregon's Dillon Gabriel now leads Texas' Quinn Ewers and Georgia's Carson Beck as a favorite to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

Gabriel transferred to the Ducks' program from Oklahoma and is one of the most experienced players in collegiate football.

The Duck quarterback surpassed Ewers and Beck who had been favorites since February and became QB1 on the potentional Heisman winners list.

Halfway through the year and just 50 days away from the kickoff, Gabriel has 19-1 odds at ESPN BET.

ESPN BET lists Gabriel at +750 to win the trophy, followed by Beck at +800 and Ewers at +900.

FanDuel shows Gabriel tied with Beck at +750, followed by Ewers at +1000 and Ohio State's quarterback Will Howard at +1400.

Gabriel enters his first year for the Ducks with nearly five entire seasons of college football under his belt.

Last season for the Sooners, Gabriel had 3,660 passing yards for 30 touchdowns and a minimal 6 interceptions.

As a dual threat quarterback, Gabriel ran for an additional 373 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Not to mention, the quarterback has another trick up his sleeve. In 2023, he let loose a nasty 37-yard punt for the Sooners special teams unit.

Gabriel has big shoes to fill, following the likes of now-legendary Oregon quarterback Bo Nix who earned the highest completion percentage of any NCAA quarterback.
