Oregon football had a shaky opener against Idaho and fans are ready to move forward and just forget that the 24-14 snoozefest ever happened. And I don't blame them.

The Ducks didn't look all that impressive against the Vandals, only holding a 17-14 lead in the fourth quarter before slamming the door shut with a late touchdown. It wasn't what anyone in college football was expecting out of the No. 3 team in the country at home against an FCS squad, but we can just chalk that up to first-game jitters.

Oregon will now play host to one of the best teams in the Group of Five with Boise State coming to town. The Broncos won their opener at Georgia Souther, 56-45.

Defense may not be on the menu for Saturday's game in Eugene, but what does the computer have to say about this matchup?

Well, I ran a simulation for the Oregon vs. Boise State game on EA Sports College Football 25 and the results weren't all that shocking.

Results for Oregon football vs. Boise State simulation

ESPN gives Oregon about an 80 percent chance to win this game, and EA Sports College Football 25 basically agreed, simulating a 37-19 win for the Ducks under the lights at Autzen.

The Ducks were out-gained 399-361 on the simulation which was rather shocking as the Broncos had about 100 more passing yards. Oregon did rush for 148 yards and averaged nearly four yards per carry but the difference was really the turnover battle as the Ducks had zero to Boise State's three.

Dillon Gabriel passed for 196 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-21 completions. His favorite target was Traeshon Holden who had three catches for 88 yards and that lone score. Tez Johnson had three catches for 34 yards and Terrance Ferguson also had three receptions for 24 yards. Evan Stewart had a catch for 22 yards.

On the ground, Jordan James led the way with 85 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries and Noah Whittington had 71 yards and averaged 7.1 per touch.

Brandon Johnson and Jeffrey Bassa each had 10 total tackles but the latter added two interceptions. Jordan Burch and Matayo Uiagalelei each recorded a sack and had seven combined tackles.

Overall, not a horrible performance by Oregon, but not quite the offensive showing we may expect.
