Final score prediction for Oregon football vs. Idaho in Week 1
Can you believe that Oregon football is back? It's truly hard to even fathom that the Ducks will be taking the field in just a couple of days, but here we are.
Oregon begins the season ranked No. 3 in the land and the Ducks will be hosting a familiar foe in Idaho who they haven't faced in about two decades. Since 1970, Oregon and Idaho only have only met four times and the Ducks won each matchup by double figures. The closest game in that span was a 42-13 beatdown in Eugene back in 2000.
Fast forward to 2024 and the Vandals are no longer members of the FBS as they were relegated to the FCS back in 2018 after a few years in the Sun Belt. They are coming off their best season in the FCS, losing in the playoff quarterfinal and finishing 9-4 overall. Head coach Jason Eck has the program turning around as he's 16-9 in his two years.
This isn't going to be a cakewalk of a game for Oregon, but the Ducks should win comfortably if they show up and take care of business without looking ahead.
Dan Lanning won't let them lose focus.
Dillon Gabriel should have a field day through the air and that defense should feast on a brand-new starting quarterback even though he shows promise.
It's not going to be overly difficult to predict the outcome of this game because, well, Oregon should be able to roll, but I'm going to do my best to predict the final score.
So here we go: Oregon 55, Idaho 13
