Popo Aumavae signed by the Carolina Panthers

Popo Aumavae played an incredible five seasons for the Oregon Ducks, devastatingly missing 2022 due to injury.

In 2021 he finished the year with 36 tackles for a career season-high. Throughout all five seasons, the defensive tackle collected 84 tackles and 6.5 sacks over 51 games for the Ducks.

The Carolina Panthers, who desperately need more big men on their roster, signed Aumavae on Sunday afternoon to make him the 12th former Oregon player signed in the 2024 class.

Combining the NFL Draft and the free agency thus far, the Ducks have had 11 former players signed to NFL franchises.

Bo Nix was the first name called for Oregon when the Denver Broncos selected him 12th overall in the first round. The Broncos would later draft Troy Franklin in the fifth round.

Jackson Powers-Johnson was selected by the Raiders on Day 2. Khyree Jackson, Brandon Dorlus, Jamal Hill, Bucky Irving, and Evan Williams were drafted on the third day.

If more teams announce that they have signed a former Oregon player, this post will be updated to include the most recent signees.
