How to watch Oregon men’s basketball vs. Utah: The Ducks final Pac-12 home game
By Sam Fariss
The Pac-12 is dissolving and is quickly approaching its last-ever men’s basketball conference tournament. With teams heading to the Big 12, Big Ten, and ACC, many are about to play in their final Pac-12 games.
Oregon is set to host the Utah Utes in its last home game in the conference that the Ducks have called home for decades.
As the Utes head to Eugene, the Ducks are coming off a devastating loss to the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday night. After blowing a 12-point lead to the Buffs, Oregon is still searching for its 20th win of the season.
How to watch Oregon men’s basketball vs. Utah:
- Date & Time: March 9 at 4 p.m. PT
- Location: Matthew Knight Arena, Eugene, OR
- TV & Streaming: Pac-12 Network, Fubo TV
- Radio: Varsity Network
- Live stats: StatBroadcast
Key matchups:
Freshman Jackson Shelstad had an incredible start against the Buffs, shooting 3-3 and scoring the Ducks’ first seven points. If he can recreate his start and have his level of play remain consistent throughout both halves, Shelstad could see 30+ points for the Ducks.
N’Faly Dante also had a great performance against Colorado. His defensive expertise was highlighted by five blocks and eight defensive rebounds.
While Shelstad and Dante combined for 43 points, joined by an additional 17 points from Jermaine Couisnard, the rest of the Ducks struggled from the field. Oregon will need to improve its overall shooting percentage heading into the matchup with the Utes.
Defensively, Dante will need to shut down Utah’s center Branden Carlson. Leading the Utes with 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, Carlson has been the team’s star all year long.
Shelstad and Couisnard will most likely be matched up against Gabe Madsen, Utah guard, who leads his team in assists with 2.4 per game.
Overall, Oregon should be able to dominate the Utes at home and finally reach the 20-win mark for the season.
Oregon MBB vs. Utah this season:
In another heartbreaker for the Ducks this year, Oregon lost to Utah on the road at the end of January. The Utes pulled off the 80-77 comeback victory after the Ducks had worked for a one-point lead at halftime.
Allowing the Utes to score 48 points in the second half, Oregon earned just their fifth loss of the season. Now at 19-11, the Ducks are facing 18-12 Utes again. Oregon sits fourth and Utah is fifth in the Pac-12.
