Without minimal appearances during the Senior Bowl game, former Oregon cornerback Khyree Jackson needed to perform well at the NFL Scouting Combine for scouts and coaches to see his skills.
Over the 2023 season, Jackson had 3 interceptions, 10 pass deflections, and 34 total tackles. He also had five TFLs for 26 yards. He performed well in the week leading up to the Reese's Senior Bowl but was slightly outshined by other defensive backs.
At 195 pounds, Jackson is a relatively large corner and his size seemed to show its negative side effects at the Combine.
Khyree Jackson – 40-yard dash
The best time of the day was a blazing 4.29 seconds. Jackson ran nearly a quarter of a second slower than that.
Cross the line at the 4.50-second mark, the Duck found himself towards the back of the CB pack. However, with his large frame, this time is fairly impressive. Carrying nearly 200 pounds down the lane so quickly looked good for Jackson’s draft stock.
His 10-yard split wasn’t quite as stellar at 1.50 seconds, well below the group’s average
Khyree Jackson – vertical jump
While he performed well in the 40-yard dash, Jackson’s vertical fell on the lower end. Springing up to 36.50 inches, he was half a foot shorter than Elijah Jones’ jump which was the best of the afternoon.
Khyree Jackson – broad jump
Jackson truly excelled in the broad jump. Absolutely flying, he landed over 11 feet from his take-off spot.
Finishing third overall for cornerbacks, Jackson may have saved his NFL Draft stock by performing well in this drill.
Khyree Jackson – field drills
His sure hands and strong field awareness were on display as the corners ran various field drills. Jackson’s ability to essentially run on a tightrope was one of the highlights of his day and helped boost his stock.
Overall, Jackson had an impressive day in Indianapolis and should find himself picked relatively early in the NFL Draft.
