Sean Burwell played for the Ducks around the same time as Whittle, in fact, they shared snaps for a season.

Despite sharing snaps and only playing in seven games during his sophomore season, he finished his collegiate career with 2,690 rushing yards on 645 attempts. He also racked up 19 rushing touchdowns in his time with the Ducks.

Burwell averaged 9.7 yards per carry, just eking out Whittle’s average. He had 3,630 all-purpose yards for a career total of 22 touchdowns.

While still in school, Burwell was No. 3 on the Ducks’ all-time rushing list and second on the all-purpose yards list. Despite dropping to No. 9 over the years, Burwell is an all-time Oregon great at the running back position.
