Dan Lanning's recruiting dominance has hit a hitch.

Former Oregon commit, four-star defensive lineman Josiah Sharma, has flipped his committment to the Texas Longhorns.

This summer, Lanning has repeatedly poached top prospects across the nation from teams like the Horns, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and more.

However, Texas' head coach Steve Sarkisian has stolen on of Lanning's gems in Sharma.

Sharma had initially committed to the Ducks on June 28 after an official visit to Eugene just two weeks earlier.

A week before his trip to Oregon, Sharma had an official visit in Austin with the Longhorns. He also had an unofficial visit on July 25 which apparently led to a good feeling about Sarkisian and Texas.

On the same day as his unofficial visit, Sharma decommitted from the Ducks and committed to the Longhorns.

Sharma, a class of 2025 prospect, is rated as an 88 overall player by 247Sports. He is ranked as the No. 245 overall athlete in the class, the No. 30 defensive lineman, and the No. 21 player coming out of California.

While Sharma is a big loss for Lanning and the Ducks, Oregon has plenty of players on the depth chart to replace the (rather large) hole left behind by his decommitment.
