Oregon Ducks news: Betting sites list Ducks as Big Ten runner-ups, MBB on the rocks, more
By Sam Fariss
Amid a highly successful transfer portal period and an incredible 2024 National Signing Day, Dan Lanning and the Ducks are sitting in second on almost every way-too-early Big Ten rankings.
As we creep closer to Oregon moving to the Big Ten – along with USC, UCLA, and UW – fans are eager to see how their team performs against the big-name perennial programs.
FanDuel released its conference champion odds on Tuesday and the Ducks are at +250 right now, trailing only behind the Ohio State Buckeyes who sit at +155 as the favorites.
As Lanning enters his third season leading Oregon, he looks to improve upon his previous two years. Currently winless against Washington and falling short of a conference title thus far, he and the Ducks hope to turn their luck around.
Michigan, the reigning national champion and Big Ten champion, is third on FanDuel’s list at +460 while Washington, the reigning Pac-12 champion and national runner-up, is seventh at +5000.
FanDuel lists Oregon as the fourth-favorite team to win the 2024-25 national title at +850. It has Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas ahead of the Ducks.

The men’s basketball team is sliding precariously close to not making the NCAA Tournament for a third year in a row.
Following a loss to Cal on Saturday, the Ducks are third in the Pac-12 with an 18-9 overall record. Oregon will host in-state rival Oregon State at 8 p.m. PT tonight to try to turn the end of its season around.
This will be the final Pac-12 Civil War between the two teams. Earlier this season, the Ducks defeated the Beavers 60-58 in Corvallis.
Following the Civil War matchup, Oregon will head to Tuscon to face the conference’s top-ranked Arizona Wildcats. The team will close out its season at home against Colorado and Utah.
More college sports news:
In the same vein of betting odds being released, FanDuel also announced its preseason odds for the SEC champion on Tuesday.
Leading the pack is Georgia at +185 favorites while newcomer Texas is at +300 in second. Ole Miss falls ahead of Alabama and the Longhorns’ fellow Big 12 transfer Oklahoma is in ninth with +4000 odds of winning.
The Georgia Bulldogs are looking for revenge after losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC championship game last season and consequently being knocked out of the College Football Playoffs.
As the national football scene reduces from Power-Five conferences to four, it should be a great year of football, especially with 12 teams making the playoffs.
