The Ducks traveled to Boulder, Colo. to face the Buffaloes in what turned out to be their first conference loss of the season. Previously at 5-0 in the Pac-12, Oregon was the only undefeated team in conference play.

Despite the Ducks’ impressive win streak, Colorado was expected to win. With a home-court advantage and an impressive start to their season, the Buffaloes have looked good this year.

Colorado forward Cody Williams led the game in scoring with 23 points, shooting 10/13 from the field.

Oregon’s leading scorer was guard Jadrian Tracey who had 14 points while only shooting 50 percent on his field goals.

The usual Duck stars struggled from the field. Jackson Shelstad shot 3-8 from the field for 9 points, Brennan Rigsby shot 50 percent for 8 points, and N’Faly Dante only scored 7 for the team.

The lack of production on offense led to a 16-point deficit at the end of the game, the Buffs handing the Ducks their first conference loss this year.

Next, Oregon will travel to Salt Lake City to play the Utah Utes before heading home to host the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Offensive coordinator Will Stein was spotted out on the recruiting trial. He paid a visit to high school quarterback Akili Smith Jr., a 2025 commit for the Ducks, in San Diego.

Stein had been atop a few peoples’ lists for replacing Jedd Fisch at Arizona but for now, it looks like the Ducks will keep their OC out of the ever-revolving coach carousel.

The men’s tennis team had to cancel its opening match against Eastern Washington on Friday morning but will face Purdue at the STC later in the evening and will also host Pacific on Sunday.

The Ducks finished last in the Pac-12 last year, going 2-6 in conference matches and 14-13 overall.
