The Oregon football program has been synonymous with fun offenses for several years now. And with the way Dan Lanning and his coaching staff have constructed the roster, it looks like there’s a really good chance that the Ducks have a lot of fun on offense during the 2024 Oregon football season.

I’m not just talking about former Oklahoma Sooner and UCF Knight Dillon Gabriel starting at quarterback for the Oregon Ducks, though he certainly plays a rather significant part in how exciting Oregon’s offense will be this season. Guys like wide receiver Tez Johnson are going to command a lot of attention during this coming season.

And, to be completely honest, guys like Johnson are already getting some attention. It’s already begun.

To be completely precise, Johnson himself has received some recognition from the folks over at PFF ahead of the 2024 Oregon football season.

PFF has dubbed Johnson as one of 10 wide receivers NFL fans should get to know ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. That’s a pretty good list for a wide receiver with a lot of talent to land on.

As Johnson heads into his senior season, he is fresh off a spectacular 2023 season during which he established himself as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the Pac-12.

Last year, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound wideout thrived while catching passes for Bo Nix and he managed to snag 86 receptions for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns.

This is a guy who has the ability to stretch the field and make game-changing plays for Oregon. With Gabriel lining up at quarterback and with Will Stein as the architect for this offense at offensive coordinator, it seems very likely that Oregon football fans will see Johnson routinely make huge plays again this season.

Johnson isn’t huge and won’t dominate defensive backs with a physical presence like some other wide receivers might, but he’s still one of the most dangerous wideouts around. With his speed, Johnson will present problems for opposing offenses and that will be exciting to see.
