The Oregon Ducks track and field program is sending yet another talented star on to the Olympics. This time, it’s Jaida Ross who will be representing the Ducks, the state of Oregon, and the United States during the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ross, who is from Medford, Oregon, clinched a spot on Team USA by clinching third place in the shot put event at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene on Saturday, June 29.
Given that this happened in her home state and at her university, this has to be a pretty big deal for Ross. It seems like she feels that it is.
"I feel on top of the world," Ross said, according to Oregon’s press release. "I've never felt like this before…feeling super grateful. (Hayward) was ecstatic. I've never heard it that loud. To have that many people here, it was amazing. Big shout out to the fans and anyone that came to watch."

Given the smile you can see on her face, it’s more than safe to say that this is a phenomenal moment for her:
Competing alongside Ross in the shot put will be Chase Jackson and Raven Saunders, who are both also set to represent Team USA during the Paris Olympics.

After Ross made it on to Team USA, Oregon Ducks fans were more than happy to celebrate the accomplishment of another Duck.
Okay, the French Ducks have the perfect opportunity to celebrate Ross and her accomplishments. That’s just great, to be completely honest.
This picture? Also great. We need more pictures of folks celebrating at Hayward Field.
As Oregon Ducks fans (and folks throughout Oregon) celebrate this incredible achievement, all eyes will turn to Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Duck fans (literally) around the globe will have the chance to cheer Ross on. And apparently some Duck fans in Paris will be there rooting for her as well.
