Ducks’ cornerback coach Demetrice Martin is leaving Eugene for East Lansing. Michigan State is Martin’s alma mater and he played for the Spartans from 1992-1995 as a wide receiver and cornerback.
Matt Zenitz, a college reporter for 247sports, announced Martin’s news on Tuesday afternoon.

Martin is the first member of Lanning’s coaching staff to depart from the program since the head coach confirmed he would be staying in Eugene for the foreseeable future. He was a coordinator for Oregon from 2021 through 2024.
Before joining Oregon’s staff, Martin held positions at Colorado, Arizona, UCLA, and Washington.
Prior to announcing the hire of Brent Brennan as Arizona’s new head coach, reports shared that the Wildcats were eyeing the Ducks’ offensive coordinator Will Stein for the job.
Stein has been with the Ducks since Lanning hired him in December of 2022 and is also the quarterbacks coach for Oregon.
Martin will be joining former Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith as he takes over the Michigan State Spartan’s program.
