Dan Lanning has done an excellent job of recruiting for Oregon football over the past couple of years and one of his first five-star commits was Dallas Wilson.

The five-star receiver from the 2025 class committed to the Ducks in January of 2023 and while he's drawn interest from most major programs, he has remained solid to Oregon. Being committed for a year and a half, it felt like there was no reason for Lanning or the Ducks to worry about losing him.

But it looks like there's going to be increased competition to sign him come winter.

According to Duck Reports, Wilson is taking a visit to Gainesville this weekend for Florida's season opener against Miami.

What's interesting about this visit is not only the fact that Wilson has been drawing interest from Florida, but the Hurricanes also seem to be in the fold. This is one of those games where both teams are recruiting the elite target and the home team may actually experience a negative effect if they lose the game.

If it was up to Oregon fans, however, both teams would lose.

Wilson has been committed to the Ducks since January of 2023 and it hasn't felt like he was in danger of decommitting, but this visit seems like something to keep an eye on. Florida, Miami, and Florida State seem to be pushing hard for the five-star from Tampa.

Lanning will hope to retain that commitment and convince Wilson that he has a brighter future in the Pacific Northwest than he does in his home state. That'll be tough.

Wilson is ranked the No. 21 overall recruit and fifth-best receiver in the 2025 class, per 247Sports.
