Last week, the Big Ten announced that several contests, including the Oregon football matchup vs UCLA, would be announced following the games of this week.

The announcement was made late on Saturday night and we now know that Oregon will have a night game at UCLA on Sept. 28.

The UCLA Bruins have not had an easy 2024 season so far and are in a stretch of games that is not favorable. Following the loss at LSU on Saturday where they were doubled up 34-17, the Bruins host Oregon next Saturday before traveling across the country to visit Beaver Stadium and the Penn State Nittany Lions on Oct. 5.

For Oregon football, after starting the season on a high note with a high ranking, the team has struggled at times, especially on the offensive line. Despite being undefeated at 3-0 on the year, pollsters have dropped the Ducks out of a top five team conversation as other teams have been more impressive in the beauty contest of the early season AP Top 25. Things get real this week.

The SEC and Big Ten will see ranked opponents meeting this week with Georgia visiting Alabama and a now hot 3-0 Illinois team visiting Penn State. The Illini defeated Nebraska on the road on Friday night. Ohio State who took care of Marshall on Saturday will visit Michigan State to open Big Ten play. Illinois and Penn State meet Saturday at 7:30 p.m. PT on NBC.

Oregon showed improvement before the bye week in taking care of former Pac-12 and in-state foe Oregon State. Dillon Gabriel continued to show he can run the Ducks offense with efficiency. He has completed better than 80 percent of his passes through three games this season against Idaho, a tough Boise State team, and Oregon State.

Oregon continues their season and opens Big Ten play visiting UCLA on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. PT on FOX.
