It's been an interesting season so far for Oregon football, beginning 3-0 but not earning the respect of AP voters, falling from No. 3 to No. 9 in the AP Top 25.

How does a team start 3-0 and drop six spots in the AP Poll? Well, being within one score of an FCS team at home in the fourth quarter in the season opener and needing a fourth-quarter comeback to beat Boise State at home will do that. Voters have been hard on Dan Lanning and the Ducks, but there was a silencing of doubters, of sorts, in Week 4 against Oregon State.

The Ducks went to Corvallis and dominated the rival Beavers 49-14. That was good enough to earn some national respect back, but the Ducks still remained No. 9 in the polls.

Oregon is getting more respect from ESPN's FPI which ranks the Ducks' resume as the eighth-best in college football through three weeks.

Obviously it's still so early in the season and Oregon has some tough games approaching, but it's cool to see that wins over Idaho, Boise State, and Oregon State are good enough to rank the resume No. 8 in the country.

This also means that Oregon's resume so far is the second-best in the Big Ten behind only Michigan State who has beaten FAU, Maryland, and Prairie View A&M.

The coming weeks will tell us a lot about Oregon with UCLA, Michigan State, and Ohio State approaching after the bye. There's a chance we could see this resume ranked in the top five come mid-October.
