Oregon football history: Ducks vs UCLA Bruins series to live on in Big Ten
By Ethan Lee
There’s a lot of history and commonality that exists between the Oregon Ducks football program and the UCLA Bruins. And thanks to the fact that both the Bruins and the Oregon football team are making the move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten, this really fun series should be able to continue for the foreseeable future.
And while this may not be a prominent college football rivalry, this is a series that spans nearly a century and has over 70 meetings. And these two teams have both helped shape the landscape of college football out on the West Coast.
It’s great that this series will continue.

Oregon football vs. UCLA Bruins series history
The first time the UCLA Bruins football team and the Oregon Ducks took the field to face off against each other was nearly a century ago on November 29, 1928, a game that Oregon ended up winning by a score of 26-6.
Since then, the two teams have met up numerous times, but the Bruins had incredibly consistent success throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s that allowed UCLA to take a lead in this series. But, thankfully, that came to an end and the Ducks are now in the driver’s seat of the series, having won four of the last five and nine of the last 10.
And since 2000, Oregon has managed to win an impressive 11 of 16 meetings, including a streak of eight consecutive victories from 2008 up into 2014.
The most lopsided win in the series between the Ducks and Bruins happened back on October 21, 2010 as Oregon managed to completely steamroll the Bruins. The Ducks managed to win by a score of 60-13 in Autzen Stadium.
