When you think about big brands, Oregon football comes to mind. The school that associates with Nike and has one of the most beautiful campuses with elite facilities and endless uniform combinations should be considered a massive brand.

And it is.

Ahead of the 2024 season, 247Sports ranked its 25 biggest brands in college football and Oregon came in at No. 12 just behind Florida State and Penn State.

To me, this feels a little low. Oregon has the Nike brand on its side and everyone knows about the Ducks. But somehow there are 11 brands bigger? I'm not so sure about that.

Here are the 11 teams ahead of Oregon, in order:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Texas
4. Michigan
5. Notre Dame
6. Georgia
7. USC
8. Oklahoma
9. LSU
10. Florida State
11. Penn State

To me, Georgia is way too low and Oregon should be ahead of the likes of Penn State and Florida State. A national title would probably fix this, but I think the Ducks easily have one of the 10 biggest brands in college football, especially ahead of the 2024 season in which they're ranked No. 3.

It's tough to argue with Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, and Notre Dame in the top five, but it feels like the Bulldogs should overtake at least one of those programs. USC, Oklahoma, and LSU feel like top-10 brands, but so does Oregon. In my opinion, there's just no way that Penn State is a bigger brand than Oregon.

Oregon is right ahead of Clemson, Florida, and Texas A&M so the Ducks are getting some respect here.

After a national title this year, everyone would have Oregon as a top-10 brand in college football.
