While the number of outgoing players for this squad is rather high, having a new head coach in Jonathan Smith and him bringing a lot of his talented players from Oregon State, quickly remedies that problem.

The biggest Beaver to Spartan transformation that needs to be talked about is that of Aidan Chiles, Smith’s backup quarterback at Oregon State. While Chiles was “just” a backup, he knows Smith’s offensive game plan and knows how to play within his system.

Alongside Chiles will be former Beaver tight end Jack Velling who was a four-star transfer out of Corvallis.

One big loss for the Spartans was Dre Butler from the defensive line. The four-star transfer has yet to commit to a new program but he will be sorely missed in East Lansing.
