Ranking the Oregon Ducks defensive coordinators from the last decade
By Sam Fariss
A two-time national champion coach with the Alabama Crimson Tide and an NFL defensive assistant coach, Tosh Lupoi jumped on board the Oregon staff when Dan Lanning offered him the job.
Despite a rocky start with the Ducks, including a 49-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in Lupoi's first game with Oregon, the defensive coordinator has turned the program back around.
Since the loss to the Bulldogs, Oregon's defense has only allowed 132 points in the team's four losses over the past two years.
This past season, Lupoi's defense held six opponents to single digits including Portland State, No. 19 Colorado, Stanford, No. 13 Utah, No. 16 Oregon State, and No. 23 Liberty.
As Oregon prepares for the Big Ten, Lupoi has been working right alongside Lanning on the recruiting trail, bringing in nationally top-ranked talent and five-star recruits to continue building up his already formidable defensive unit.
