Should Oregon football be worried about Dallas Wilson?

If there's one thing you can't criticize Oregon football coach Dan Lanning on, it's his ability to recruit with some of the biggest names in the country. He can win just about every recruiting battle and his ability to land big fish is a main reason why the Ducks look to be a powerhouse for years to come.

But even though he's an elite recruiter doesn't mean he'll never experience hiccups or misses.

Oregon has missed on its fair share of top targets under Lanning and that's not going to end any time soon because, well, college football recruiting is unpredictable. One second, you're looking like a lock to land a target and the next, he's picking a rival school.

It happens.

It hurts even more when a recruit that is committed and decides to flip. That's just the nature of the beast in college football nowadays and Oregon experience a lot of that when Mario Cristobal left for Miami, but luckily Lanning did a ton of damage control.

However, there may be another flip on the horizon -- at least that's what fans are worried about now.

According to a report from On3, UCF is set to have a massive recruiting weekend as it hosts Deion Sanders and Colorado and one of the Knights' big visitors is five-star Oregon receiver commit Dallas Wilson.

So should Oregon fans be worried?

At this point, I'd say they need to be less worried about UCF and more worried about the fact that Wilson is showing a ton of love to his local schools lately and it may indicate that he is entertaining the idea of staying close to home (he's from Tampa, Fla.). So if that's the case, his upcoming visit to Florida State in November will be huge and his interest in Miami, Florida, and now UCF is concerning.

I wouldn't smash that panic button just yet, but it feels like the No. 22 prospect in the 2025 class is looking for reasons to stay close to home to play college ball.
