Three third-year players set to become stars for Oregon football
By Sam Fariss
Jordan James was stuck in a backup role behind the beloved Bucky Irving. With Irving taking such a large majority of the snaps, James’ game was frequently overlooked in 2023.
However, even as a backup, James averaged 7.1 yards per carry and only lost 6 total yards last season. He scored 11 touchdowns (the same as Irving) and averaged over 54 yards per game for Oregon.
While James will be the starter, he will most likely still have to share snaps with the new RB2, Noah Whittington. I think that 2024 will be a monumental year for James and he will (literally) carry the team to multiple Big Ten victories.
