Danny O’Neil took hold of the reins in Eugene before Oregon had the national reputation that it does today. Playing for the Ducks from 1991-1994, he helped put the Ducks on the map when it came to powerhouses on the football field.

His junior and senior years saw incredible production levels from O’Neil. In 1993, he threw for 3,224 yards in the season, seventh-best on the Ducks’ all-time list.

In 1994 he defeated Stanford with 6 touchdown passes in the game (tied for the most in a single game) and he also beat Penn State with 456 yards (tied for the fourth-most in a single game).

Over his four years with the Ducks, O’Neil completed passes for a career total of 8,301 yards, putting him in fourth on the Oregon record list.
