After falling past the first three rounds of the NFL Draft, Troy Franklin was selected by the Denver Broncos as the No. 102 overall pick.
One thing the former Oregon Duck won’t have to worry about in Denver is chemistry with his quarterback.
Earlier in the week, Oregon’s quarterback Bo Nix was drafted by the Broncos as the No. 12 overall pick.
The two Ducks will be reunited in Mile High City as they take their talents to the professional level.
With head coach Sean Payton leading the Broncos, Nix and Franklin have the opportunity to become an elite duo in the league.
During his final season for the Ducks, Franklin had 1,383 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns from his QB1 Nix. The two combined to break the Oregon single-season receiving yards record.
Franklin and Nix joining forces on the same NFL team could not be more perfect as the two are beyond comfortable with each others’ style of play.
Throughout last season, it seemed no matter where Nix threw the ball, Franklin could find it and the duo combined for some jaw-dropping deep balls for the Ducks.
Reports were shared that Franklin fell in the draft due to concerns about his love for the game and a possible lack of passion.
Apparently, Payton isn’t too worried about Franklin’s love of football, and the passion that Oregon fans saw throughout the last three seasons is sure to be present in Denver.
Over three seasons with the Ducks, Franklin had 160 total receptions for 2,483 yards and 25 touchdowns. In 2023, he had a career-long catch for an 84-yard touchdown.
Franklin and Nix are about to take the NFL by storm, or stampede, and the Denver Broncos made a great choice by reuniting the dynamic Duck duo.
