Way-too-early ranking of Big Ten quarterbacks ahead of the 2024 season
By Sam Fariss
The Big Ten is growing to 18 teams as Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington leave the Pac-12 for their new home.
As powerhouse programs prepare to clash on the field, many of the teams will be led by some of the most elite quarterbacks in the nation.
However, not every Big Ten team can luck out with a quarterback who will lead it to a national title.
In 2024, as the conference expands and the competition becomes even more fierce, which teams have the best quarterback at the reigns of their program?
Note that all starting quarterbacks are projections ahead of the 2024 regular season.
- Starting quarterback: Gavin Wimsatt or Athan Kaliakmanis
One of the reasons that Rutgers is dead last in this ranking is that the team has no clear starter at the quarterback position.
Neither Gavin Wimsatt nor Athan Kaliakmanis has made himself stand out against the other and it leaves the Scarlet Knights without a true offensive leader.
Rutgers has repeatedly struggled to find its footing in the Big Ten and with the current quarterback ‘battle’ the team is going through, 2024 shouldn’t be much different.
