Similarly to Cade McNamara, Illinois starting quarterback Luke Altmyer suffered a season-ending injury in 2023.

Now that Altmyer is back to full health, he is expected to once again be the Fighting Illini’s starting QB.

Before his injury in 2023, Altmyer completed nearly 65 percent of his pass attempts for 1,883 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
