Under new head coach Jonathan Smith, the Michigan State Spartans have the opportunity to greatly improve their Big Ten standings.

When Smith signed his contract with the Spartans, leaving Oregon State, multiple Beavers from his previous squad followed him to East Lansing.

Transfers Ru'Quan Buckley from Nebraska, Marcellius Pulliam from Miami (FL), and Ed Woods from Arizona State were also great additions to the Spartans' defensive roster.
