We are now just over 24 hours away from the start of the 2024 Oregon football season and this will be the Ducks' first real taste of being on the Big Ten Network.
That's right, Oregon will be on BTN to open the season which almost doesn't even sound right. The Ducks are joining the Big Ten after the conference folded this past offseason. Joining Oregon in this move to the Big Ten are USC, Washington, and UCLA so the Ducks won't be alone here as conference newcomers.
There will be familiar faces in the Big Ten with Oregon so maybe it won't be so scary after all. A lot of people hate change, and I totally get that, but this feels like change for the better.
With the move to the Big Ten comes potentially new broadcasters to listen to during games which could be sort of an uncomfortable feeling. Not recognizing the voices behind the broadcast could be weird at first, but everyone will get used to it.
Fortunately for those who are anti-change, the first Oregon broadcast of the season will be with familiar voices calling the game on the Big Ten Network.
In fact, color analyst Yogi Roth and play-by-play man Guy Haberman will call Saturday evening's game from Autzen Stadium. Do those names sound familiar? Well, they should because they were brought over to the Big Ten Network from the Pac-12 Network this offseason when the conference folded. This is a cool move for new fans who were used to listening to the Pac-12 Network every Saturday.
I'm sure Oregon fans will hear a lot of these two all season but they'll get their first taste of them as Big Ten Network broadcasters on Saturday against Idaho.
