The Oregon Ducks are heating up on the recruiting trail as Dan Lanning and the rest of the coaching staff continue making a run towards signing another top 5 ranked recruiting class. Thus far, 3 weekends of official visits have resulted in 5 commitments helping push the class up to 7th in the rankings.

As the Ducks look to finally break into the top 5, the final weekend of official visits will play a major role in where this class ends up. When the recruits start arriving on campus, all eyes will be on the lone 5-star in attendance as Dan Lanning looks to make the biggest splash yet.

Oregon continues to trend perfectly for 5-star WR Xavier Sabb

The highest ranked recruit on campus this weekend in Eugene will be 5-star wide receiver Xavier Sabb. The New Jersey native has been a highly contested recruit in this cycle, but coming down the stretch, Oregon appears to have all the momentum. Heading into the weekend, Rivals' recruiting experts have been predicting the Ducks to win out for Sabb.

Now as Xavier Sabb is set to make the trip to Eugene, the recruiting services are presenting a united front in their predictions. On Thursday, 24/7 Sports followed suit, logging another prediction favoring the Ducks in the recruitment of Xavier Sabb.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Xavier Sabb is a 5-star recruit, ranked as the 30th ranked player in the country, the 5th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the 2nd ranked player out of New Jersey.

Winning out for Xavier Sabb would mark a major win for the Oregon staff, and especially Ross Douglas given what the Ducks were up against. Alabama currently has both of Xavier's older brothers on the roster while other schools have tried to lure him out of New Jersey, but it's shaping up to be Oregon that pulls off the feat.

The timing of trying to get Xavier Sabb to close out his recruitment couldn't be better as he'll take his official visit to Eugene this weekend alongside Oregon QB commit Will Mencl. Having Mencl on campus will only help the coaching staff as Sabb will get to build a relationship with the quarterback who will best determine his success.

Coming into the Summer, Oregon's wide receiver class was empty, but by the end of the Summer it could be one of the most impressive. Highly touted 4-star WR Dakota Guerrant just committed to the Ducks while in-state 3-star Malachi Garlington will only continue to climb the rankings. Add in if the Ducks can add 4-star Blake Wong or Bode Sparrow, and this class could be absurd.

The biggest goal this weekend will be getting Xavier Sabb on board as it would vault this class up the rankings. The Ducks recruit wide receivers at a high level, but any time you have a chance to close out the recruitment of a 5-star recruit, it's an exciting time for the coaching staff and the fans.
